Cultural District Virtual Tour
Photo by J. E. Clark Completed in 1998, this is the latest of three visitors information centers currently operated by the Fort Worth Convention and Visitors Bureau. The people behind the counter are eager to help you get the most out of your visit, so drop in when you're in town. The center and adjacent ticket office were designed to fit in with the Deco style architecture of the Will Rogers Coliseum and Auditorium behind it.
A small historical marker located next to the sidewalk on the left side of the nearby ticket booth commemorates a landscaping project carried out on these grounds by the National Youth Administration in 1936 and 1937.
Between the Visitors Center and the adjacent ticket office there is a terrazzo depiction of a cowboy astride a bucking bronco. The mosaic in the original 1930s plans was dropped for budgetary reasons and this work was part of the 1998 renovation project.
