Here's some photos of my woodwork.
Nearly all my turning is with extremely green wood.
Sometimes they crack, but not as often as I've been led to believe.
Some photos of a bobcat my dad captured in his
backyard a few weeks ago. After the cat had calmed down, he was released unharmed.
A couple of days ago I was working in the router closet of a building under
construction. I felt a little silly wearing an orange safety vest, hardhat
and safety glasses even though I was working in a closet, but there I was. Over my
head were some holes that allow cables to be run from floor to floor. These holes
pretty much line up on every floor so that (in theory) you could drop a marble through
the hole in the top floor and have it land in the closet in the first floor. I was
sitting on a small wooden cable spool while cross-connecting network gadgets when
there was a 'thunk' between my legs. Right there, inches from my crotch, was a
1 3/8" drill bit stading in the wood.
I felt like I was in a scene from City Slickers. I will not be complaining about
the safety gear anymore. As a reminder to myself, I drove the bit into a scrap of
pecan.
